Introduction And History

Kotepally Vagu Project is a Medium Irrigation Project constructed across Kotepally Vagu to Kagna tributary of Bheema River.
The maximum ayacut developed so far under this project is 5360 acres leaving a gap ayacut of around 3840 acres.The gap ayacut was mainly due to
  • Deteriorated condition of main canals and structures, excess seepage and transmission losses due to the present conditions of the canal.
  • The distributory system of canals is also in deteriorated condition.

It irrigate an ayacut of 9200 Acres.

Irrigation Potential

Kotepally Vagu Project provides irrigation facilities to 9200 acres of ID crops in Rabi season. The project serves 18 villages in Peddemul and Dharur Mandals of Ranga Reddy District.
