SWARNA PROJECT -- Telangana Irrigation

SWARNA PROJECT
 

The Swarna Project was constructed across the Swarna River / Stream, which is a tributary to the Godavari River. The Project is located near the Jowli village, Sarangapur Mandal,Adilabad District to irrigate a total ayacut of 8945 acres in the Districts of 1.Adilabad (8945Acres) and/or to, generates –NIL- MW of power / provides drinking water to NirmalTown villages in the Nirmal mandals and Adilabad Districts.

The Project utilizes 1.265 TMC of the available water and the Reservoir Storage Capacity is 1.485 TMC (gross) and 1.265 TMC (net).

The Cost of the project is Rs. 46.85 Crores (SSR of 1978 year) and the updated cost including improvements and modernization isRs. 50.20 Crores (SSR of 1996-97 year).

As on 31st month of January 2004 year a total amount of Rs.  - Crores has been spent towards modernization and rehabilitation and an Ayacut of  7000  Acres has been stabilisedin the  Sarangapur and Nirmal Mandals, ofAdilabad District.

An amount of Rs. 3.460 Crores is provided for the year 2003 -04 to towards modernization and / or  rehabilitation
